Technology is full of narratives, but one of the loudest is around something called ‘data’. AI is the future, and it’s all about data, data is the future, and we should own it and maybe be paid for it, and countries need data strategies and data sovereignty. Data is the new oil!
There is no such thing as ‘data’, it isn’t worth anything, and it doesn’t really belong to you anyway. Data is not one thing but a collection of information specific to that event or action. Here’s a breakdown of the age-old “Data is the new oil” and an interesting take on data.
Dina Calakovic shares a simple method of presenting your accomplishments. Being generic doesn’t help anyone, meanwhile showcasing yourself with numbers provides accuracy, credibility, and trust.
This week I came across leadership expert Dorie Clark’s video on “The real reason you feel so busy (and what to do about it)”. He shares three hidden reasons people fall into an endless loop of feeling constantly busy and invites you to question what really motivates how you spend your time.
